UF Athletics' football parking page is blunt: "Public parking lots are very limited" around the stadium. The lots that are not reserved are first-come, first-served, and in UF's words fill up quickly. That is the entire official free-parking story - anyone promising you a specific reliably-free lot at kickoff time is describing a lot that filled at breakfast.

The rules that bite

• Sidewalks, grass strips, and rights-of-way are tow zones on gameday, enforced immediately - UF says so on its own page.
• The road closures start three hours before kickoff and five hours for parts of campus, so even a free space is worthless if you cannot reach it.
